Attic Insulation Photo Album: Air sealing and insulation of Attic in Sainte-Agathe-Des-Monts, QC

Upon inspecting an attic in Sainte-Agathe-Des-Monts , we identified several other: Mold and spider webs, attributed to moisture caused by bad attic insulation. In addition, the existing insulation was inadequate. We removed the old insulation, eliminated mold stains. Next, we sealed all existing air leaks within the attic before blew in 17 inches of cellulose fiber insulation onto the attic floor to achieve an optimal thermal value of R60.

Moisture was easily felt inside the attic. In addition, we could see mols stains everywhere

Spider Webs

These big spider webs indicated a moist atmosphere allowing spider and other insects to survive.

Not enough insulation!

In addition to the other problems, the fiberglass insulation was not performant enough, due to its little quantity.
