A moldy attic
This attic in L'Ile-Perrot was insulated with 6 to 9 inches of cellulose. Cellulose is an effective attic insulation, but it takes 16” to get an R60 value.
Air vents needed to be changed
Air vents are necessary to ensure air circulation but cardboard decomposes with water and humidity. We recommend the plastic ones.
Plastic vents
Plastic vents are durable and allow good air circulation in the attic and retain the cellulose.
Wooden walls installed
Our team installed wooden walls to retain the cellulose around the attic access hatch.
Cellulose blowing
Our team blew about 12” of cellulose over the existing one to get an R60 value.
