Overview of the attic before our work
The attic was poorly insulated and only had 6” of insulation in some places. The lack of insulation made the house uncomfortable and increased its energy costs.
Addition of box for the lights
Protective accessories are placed over the recessed electrical boxes to eliminate air leaks and prevent direct contact with the insulation.
Addition of ventilation mats
The ventilation mats allow ventilation of the attic and prevent moist air from touching the insulation.
Seal and insulate the metal chimney
Seal chimney stack with metal flashing, caulk and wrap with Rock Wool to eliminate air leaks and direct contact with insulation.
Blowing cellulose fibers
Blowing 16” of cellulose fibers provides an R-60 value. The best in attic insulation. Cellulose is also safe, environmentally friendly, and very effective.
