Insulating a humid attic in Rigaud, QC
Challenge
Our client had some complications within his attic: The temperature was irritatingly low, along with the presence of mold. The existing insulation was insufficient, and there were several sources of unsealed air leaks, allowing air infiltration, reducing residential comfort within the house.
Solution
Our team of workers began by removing the old, damaged insulation. We meticulously sealed all air leaks in the attic through pipes, cables, recessed lights, etc. The, we eliminated the mold with our excellent product, Mold-X2, and we placed SilverGlo thermal insulation blocks along the walls. Finally, we proceeded to blow in our cellulose fiber insulation on the attic floor, achieving an R60 thermal value.
