Poor attic insulation and insulating it in Longueil, Qc

Mrs. Barnes bought a new house in Longueil and following our inspection, she had to re-insulate the attic in order to improve the ventilation and the effectiveness of the insulation. The lack of ventilation caused a lot of humidity in the attic which created mold on the wood leading it to get rotten.

Solution
The experts at Systèmes Éconergie sealed all air leaks in the attic (joints and holes) with our expanded polyurethane foam to eliminate air leaks. They sealed and insulated the recessed lights with boxes. They added vents to allow controlled ventilation in the attic and prevent air from coming into contact with the insulation. Eventually, they blew out just over 16” of cellulose fibers. Highly effective, safe, and environmentally friendly insulation!
