Challenge

Mr. Simard contacted Systèmes Éconergie to have his attic insulated. He had very high energy costs as well as problems with an ice dam on the roof of his house in winter. Both of these problems are caused by the lack of insulation in his attic.

Solution

In order to solve Mr. Simard's problem, our experts removed the old fiberglass insulation, then they sealed all the air leaks in the attic (joints, ducts, etc.). Eventually they blew just over 16” of cellulose fibers. With this solution, the attic reached an R-61 value and our client will notice a saving on his energy costs and will no longer have problems with ice dams on his roof in winter
