Challenge
Our client, living in Boisbriand, contacted us after a heavy snowstorm, mentioning that ice dams had formed on his roof, thus making the house uncomfortably cold.
Our expert, Patrick examined the attic and noticed mold developing on the fiberglass insulation. He explained to M. Stéphane that this was one of the main sources of drafty areas within the house, leading to excessive use of heating/cooling systems to compensate.
Solution
Our team of workers threw away the old insulation. They used our Mold-X2 cleaner to eliminate mold stains and sealed all air leaks. Additionally, they blew in 17 inches of TruSoft cellulose fiber insulation allover the attic floor to achieve an optimal R60 thermal value.
