Overview of the attic before our intervention
Following our attic inspection, the client needed to change the insulation in her attic. The insulation was insufficient, there was a lack of ventilation in the attic and this created a lot of humidity.
Mold and Rot
Due to poor ventilation in the attic, mold was forming in the insulation, and the wood was getting rotten.
Sealing Air Leaks
An important step in attic insulation is to seal air leaks. To do this, we apply expanded polyurethane foam in all the holes to eliminate air leaks.
Insulate the recessed lights
Recessed lights help also in air leaks due to their hole. We install a protective box, seal the box and isolate them in order to eliminate air leaks.
Cellulose fibers
We blew 16” of cellulose fibers to achieve an R-60 value. Cellulose fiber is highly effective, safe, and environmentally friendly.
