Overview of the attic before work
Our client's attic was poorly insulated and had only 5 in’’ of fiberglass in some places.

In some places in the attic, there was only 5” and even less insulation which equates to less than R-19. Which is below normal. For an effectively insulated attic, we recommend an R-60 value.
Step 1: Seal Air Leaks
We seal air leaks like seams and holes to prevent the air you are heating or conditioning from escaping faster.
Insulate the access hatch
The attic access hatch is often not well insulated. It is also an access to an air leak. So we insulate it with our SilverGlo rigid foam insulation.

We blew 16” of cellulose fibers to achieve an R-60 value.

We blow 16” of cellulose fibers to achieve an R-60 value. It would take 22 inches to have the equivalent with fiberglass. Cellulose is therefore much more effective and efficient.
