Uninsulated attic
Our client's attic had about 8" of blown wool, which is far from enough to have a comfortable home and keep the heat in the house.
Another picture showing how badly the attic was insulated
The attic lacked insulation and had electrical lights that were not securely insulated.
Seal air leaks
A very important step is to seal the air leaks that are on the attic surface such as joints, holes, and others
Vents and insulation
We installed vents to control the ventilation in the attic. We also placed a protective seal over the built-ins and sealed it around them to eliminate this type of air leak.
Duct insulation
The ventilation ducts in the attic can be drilled. By isolating them, we avoid losses and improve their efficiency.
Overview once the attic is insulated
We blow just over 16” of cellulose fibers to achieve an R-60 value.
