Our client's home in Saint-Joseph-Du-Lac, Quebec, suffered from significant comfort issues, with the living area frequently being either too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. Additionally, they were burdened by high heating and cooling costs, largely due to poor attic insulation, which provided insufficient thermal protection. To address these problems and improve the overall energy efficiency of the home, our production team began by removing the old fiberglass insulation to expose and properly seal all air leaks on the attic floor and walls. We then seal all the leaks to prevent heat and cooling losses during distribution. Finally, we installed over 16 inches of our high-performance cellulose fiber insulation TruSoft. These upgrades contributed to significant reductions in energy consumption and Hydro bills.

Facing a humid and moldy attic, the homeowner of a house in Pointe-Calumet contacted us, seeking some help with regards to attic insulation. After careful inspection, our specialist noticed several air leaks still existing within the attic, that weakened the existing insulation's performance, increased moisture levels, and with time caused the developments of some mold spores on the wood.

To solve the issue once and for all, we started by removing the old insulation in order to identify and seal all the sources of air leaks within the attic. We then used our excellent Mold-X2 to remove all the mold spores and prevent them from reappearing. Finally, we blew in a specific quantity of our Trusoft Cellulose Insulation to reach a thermal value of R60. The transformation was radical and our client was satisfied with the results as well as with our professional service. 

The problem: When we've inspected this attic. Jerry our home comfort specialist found that this attic has not enough fiberglass and they were quite a bit of condensation on the ceiling roof. The client has noticed this, too, and wanted to change this factor. 

The solution: To resolve this problem, we have removed all the old fiberglass and seal off all the leaking cracks with our expendable foam named Zypfoam. This helps reduces by a lot the risk of air leaking. After, we blew 16 inches of our TruSoft cellulose to achieve R60 of value. 

The problem

The solution

We removed the old insulation which was made from fiberglass, in order to plug any air leaks on the attic floor with our expanded foam, added baffles in the soffits and then blown a little over 16 '' from our cellulose fiber insulation to achieve an R-60 value.

When mold started to form in his attic, our client contacted us as he was concerned about the potential health risks and damage to his home. We safely removed the old, rotting insulation before neutralizing all the mold spores present in the attic. Next, we sealed all identified air leaks, using our high-quality ZypFoam to ensure a perfect seal. Finally, we installed the new cellulose insulation, ensuring it reached the desired R60 thermal value. This high level of insulation would significantly improve the attic’s thermal performance.
