During the free estimate that was done during our consultation, our specialist noticed a major lack of insulation in Mr. Babak's attic. There were only 6” thick wool mats, which is a very little amount for the Quebec climate.
The solution we offered to our client to make his home more comfortable was to remove the old, moldy and damp insulation, then seal all the air leaks present on the attic floor such as holes and gaps. And then, blow 16 in. of cellulose insulation.
Mr. Grushka had high heating and cooling costs. His house has become less comfortable. He contacted Systèmes Éconergie to review the insulation of his attic.
The solution was to re-insulate the attic and make the attic more airtight. To do this, our team removed the old fiberglass insulation to seal all air leaks such as the joints between the boards and the chimney and then the holes. Then we blew 16” of cellulose fibers for a thermal value of R60.
The attic of Mrs. Erst's house was poorly insulated’ There was less than 10” of fiberglass insulation.
To improve the comfort of his home, we removed the fiberglass insulation to seal the air leaks with our expanded polyurethane foam. Then we blew 16 in. of cellulose fibers to obtain an R-60 value.
