Attic Insulation & Air Sealing Services in Sabrevois, QC

As part of this attic insulation project in Sabrevois, our team worked to improve the energy efficiency of a house whose insulation had become ineffective over time. We began by removing the old insulation in order to prepare the space and inspect the attic surfaces. Next, we carefully sealed all air leaks around cables, ducts, and openings to reduce heat loss and improve the building envelope's airtightness. We also installed an insulated hatch cover and SilverGlo insulation panels to reinforce the insulation at the attic access point. A new layer of TruSoft blown cellulose insulation was then applied to ensure uniform coverage and better thermal resistance. Thanks to this work, the house now benefits from high-performance attic insulation, helping to improve indoor comfort, reduce heat loss, and optimize the building's energy efficiency.

Facing a humid attic, and high energy bills, a homeowner in Sabrevois contacted us for help. After scheduling a free inspection, one of our specialists came to conduct a thourough inspection of the attic. It was clear that the existing insulation was showing signs of deterioration. in addition, there was a bas smell within the attic insinuating the presence of mold. Our specialist explained that this was the result of both presence of air leaks within the attic, as well as inedequate quantity of insulation. He further explained to our client that this leads to bad energy efficiency along with formation of ice damming during winter season. 

The solution consisted of first removing all the existing insulation. This step is very important as it allow us to identify all the sources of air leaks throughout the attic. These sources could be the area around the chimney, holes to let wires pass as well as the space around the attic hatch. 

Before putting new insulation, we air seal all the existing holes in order to ensure no leak remains. We also remove the mold spores (in case they exist) with our powerful Mold-X2. 

Finally, we blow in approximately 17" of our TruSoft cellulose insulation in order to ensure a thermal value of R60. Our cellulose insulation is fireproof and is easily installed along the attic, even within the problematic and tight spaces.
