Attic Insulation in Cote Saint-Luc

Problem

Mr. Matt contacted us for inspecting his attic. Our specialist, Jean-Philippe, visited the house in Cote Saint-Luc for a free inspection. The attic was clean and very well-organized, and there was no mold. However, the attic was somewhat humid, and there were several sources of unsealed air leaks. Jean-Philippe explained that these air leaks would make the attic increasingly humid, resulting in mold formation and the deterioration of the existing fiberglass insulation.

Solution

We removed the existing insulation to seal all sources of air leaks such as pipes, cables, the access hatch, recessed lights... This step is quite important: Air escaping into the insulation reduces its effectiveness. Then, we replaced the insulation since it was still in good condition, and we blew in our cellulose fiber insulation to ensure an R60 thermal value.

Insulating a moldy attic in La Prairie, Qc

Problem

Our client, residing in La Prairie, contacted Systèmes Econergie due to continuous discomfort related to drafts in his house, despite the heating working constantly. Our specialist Houssem visited for a free inspection and estimation. He explained that a poorly insulated attic is most probably the cause of the residential discomfort. He identified some major problems: There was insufficient insulation, compromising the attic efficiency. From the other side, there were mold stains on the existing insulation and ceiling due to excessive moisture in the attic, which, in turn, resulted from unsealed air leaks in the attic.

Solution

We started by removing the existing insulation, which was decayed due to mold, to facilitate the identification of all sources of air leaks in the attic. Using our excellent Mold X2 product, our team was able to eliminate all remaining mold stains. We sealed all areas with air leaks to ensure optimal sealing of the space. The sources of air leaks were numerous, such as ventilation ducts, attic access hatches, and holes for wires and pipes. We blew in our cellulose fiber insulation. This achieved a thermal value of R60, ensuring optimal insulation for the climate of this region in Quebec.

Isolating a damp attic in Rigaud, QC

Problem

Mr. Steve contacted us to resolve some complications within his attic. Our specialist, Toufic, visited for a free inspection. He explained to Mr. Steve that the existing insulation was insufficient. More importantly, there were several sources of unsealed air leaks, allowing air infiltration and condensation, leading to mold formation and, on the other hand, reducing residential comfort within the house.

Solution

Upon receiving authorization from our client, our team of workers began by removing the old, damaged insulation. We meticulously identified and sealed all air leaks in the attic through pipes, cables, recessed lights, etc. Then, we eliminated the mold with our excellent product, Mold-X2. We placed thermal insulation blocks along the walls. This helped prevent heat loss. Finally, we proceeded to blow in our high-quality cellulose fiber insulation on the attic floor, achieving an R60 thermal value. This method filled the void spaces and ensured adequate insulation.

Attic Insulation in Terrasse-Vaudreuil, QC

Problem

Mr. Chris contacted us due to several complications in his attic. Our specialist, Toufic, went to Terrasse-Vaudreuil for a free inspection. He identified several issues. The attic contained mold, considerable air leaks, and inadequate insulation. It was clear that these problems had a negative impact on residential comfort and energy consumption. Toufic developed a detailed action plan to address these issues.

Solution

We removed the existing insulation, which was in poor condition. Then, we meticulously sealed the air leaks through pipes, cables, recessed lighting, etc. We also eliminated all mold stains using our excellent product, Mold-X2. To ensure optimal insulation, we blew in our cellulose fiber insulation, known for its excellent thermal insulation properties.

Attic Insulation in Hampstead, QC

Problem

M. Mahdi, residing in Hampstead, had excessive drafts within his house. It seemed quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the hydro bills were very high, especially during the months of December, January, and February due to the overuse of heating systems in order to compensate for the drafts.

During our free inspection, we immediately noticed the inadequate amount of insulation. Furthermore, upon seeing the ventilation ducts, we identified a sealing problem: He explained to our client that the presence of air leaks in the attic would work against the insulation, reducing its effectiveness.

Solution

Our team of workers, led by Colin, began by removing the old insulation. This step is very important because many holes allowing air to escape are hidden under the existing insulation. Then, they conducted an excessively detailed inspection to identify, without exception, all sources of air leaks. Our excellent product ZypFoam is used to seal air leaks. Regarding the attic access hatch, it is the largest opening in the attic that can let air escape, hence the importance of insulating it very well. For this, we used our revolutionary thermal insulation SilverGlo. Finally, we blew about 17 inches of TruSoft cellulose fiber insulation on the attic floor to achieve an optimal thermal value of R60. The cellulose used is fire-resistant as well as mold-resistant.
