The problem: This client from Saint-Sauveur was feeling that his rooms on the top floor were pretty cold during the winter and really hot during the summer. Plus, on his roof, there was a good amount of ice. So, the client knew there was a problem and he decided to contact us. After this, one of our certified comfort specialists from System Econergie went to his home to evaluate the situation. After the inspection, our specialist found two majors problems in the client attic. First, there was some mold on some joists and the existing fiberglass was old he didn't have enough. 

 

The solution: We have started by removing the mold that we found with our mold remover Mold-X2. After this being done, we had removed all of the old fiberglass and replaced it with our TruSoft cellulose fiber. We have put over 16 inches to reach an R60 value. After our intervention, this client from Saint-Sauveur has now a well-isolated attic, more comfortable rooms, and a reduced electricity bill regarding his heating and climatization fees.

This customer from Saint-Sauveur recently purchased this new residence and found that the rooms on the upper floor of his house were very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. In addition to this, there was a lot of ice forming on his roof. Suspecting that there was a problem, he contacted us. Subsequently, a certified specialist from Éconergie System moved to assess the situation. Upon arrival, our specialist instantly saw the layer of ice on the client's roof, and following the attic inspection, our home comfort specialist did conclude that there was a problem in the attic related to the client's insulation. Firstly, the insulation was insufficient, and the existing mineral wool was old. In addition to this, there was mold on some beams.

We first began by removing all the mold in the attic with our product called Mold-X2. Then, we sealed all possible air leaks with our expanding foam Zypfoam, and we removed all the existing insulation to replace it with our TruSoft cellulose. We sprayed a little over 16 inches of cellulose to achieve an R60 factor.

Following our intervention, this client from Saint-Sauveur now benefits from a well-insulated attic, more comfortable rooms, and lower electricity costs related to heating and air conditioning bills.
