Attic Insulation & Air Sealing Services in Pointe-calumet, QC

During the winter season, our client, living in Pointe-Calumet, noticed the formation of ice dams and large icicles on their roof. Our free inspection done by our specialist revealed insufficient attic insulation, leading to heat loss, which in turn caused the snow on the roof to melt and refreeze. Although attic insulation had been installed a few years earlier by another company, this alarming phenomenon persisted.

To address this issue and fix it once and for all, our production team removed the existing insulation to ensure the attic’s airtightness. All air leaks in the attic floor and walls were sealed using our ZypFoam spray foam. Then, baffles were installed in the soffits to optimize attic ventilation and prevent moisture buildup. Finally, approximately 17 inches of cellulose insulation was blown in, bringing the thermal value up to R60, in compliance with energy efficiency standards.

With this intervention, our client will now have an attic protected against the formation of ice dams and icicles, thereby improving the home's energy efficiency and durability.

Our client, residing in Pointe-Calumet, contacted us as he had concerns about his attic. He had installed new insulation last year, but he did not get the promised results. While there was a reduction in drafts, it was not significant enough. As a result, energy consumption remained excessively high. Additionally, the attic still seemed to be humid. 1- The existing insulation is not in adequate quantity. 2- Lifting the existing insulation, our specialist noticed that there were still existing holes allowing air to infiltrate. This was concerning, as the presence of air leaks in the attic diminishes the effectiveness of the insulation.

Following the approximately 90-minute inspection, our specialist detailed the recommended solution to solve the issue once and for all.

After receiving authorization from our client, our team of workers, managed by Colin, began the work at our client's home. Firstly, we removed the existing insulation to identify and seal all sources of air leaks. A thorough examination was then conducted to ensure no existing holes were overlooked. Using our revolutionary product, ZypFoam, we completed the sealing process, preventing air from escaping into the attic. This would finally allow us to install our TruSoft cellulose insulation. We blew approximately 17 inches to achieve the required R60 value.

Our client is now free from all worries related to his attic. Moreover, his home became more comfortable, and he his hydro bill experienced a significant reduction.
