Our client, residing in Sainte-Anne-Des-Lacs, contacted us due to concerns in his attic. In fact, he entered his attic and felt an uncomfortable heat. Additionally, he noticed a damaged section of his existing insulation. His attic was humid with an unpleasant odor. After scheduling a free inspection with our call center, our specialist went to the site. He explained to our client that this heat is one of the consequences of air leaks from multiple sources such as the space around the chimney, recessed lighting fixtures, and holes for wires and pipes. Similarly, air leaks will cause uncomfortable cold during the winter months. This results in irritating drafts within the house, necessitating excessive use of heating and cooling systems, which in turn will result in higher Hydro bills.

Moreover, poor attic insulation can lead to mold formation, which could pose a serious structural problem.

After signing the contract, we began the renovations:

Removal of the old insulation: This allows us to identify all sources of air leaks to seal, including those hidden beneath the insulation.

Sealing all sources of air leaks: Using our high-quality ZypFoam, we eliminated all air leaks. This step is very important to maintain consistent temperatures and prevent air entry.

Installation of new insulation: We blew our TruSoft cellulose insulation throughout the entire attic. This insulation is fire-resistant and mold-resistant. We blew approximately 16 inches to achieve an R60 thermal value.

Good attic insulation significantly reduces energy consumption, leading to savings on the Hydro bill. Additionally, the risk of moisture accumulation is eliminated.
