Attic Insulation & Air Sealing Services in Lasalle, QC

Our client, residing in LaSalle, contacted our company due to mold existence within their attic. Our specialist, Toufic, visited for a free inspection and estimation. Upon examining the attic, Toufic explained that the poor insulation of the attic was the cause of the mold proliferation. On one hand, there was an insufficient amount of insulation, compromising the energy efficiency of the house. On the other hand, there were still several sources of unsealed air leaks, making the space non-airtight. This increased the humidity within the attic. Toufic further explained the steps to properly insulate the attic and subsequently prevent the development of mold, and enhance residential comfort.

After obtaining authorization from our client, our team of workers, managed by Colin, began the repair works:

1- Removal of the old insulation: We started by removing the rotten and worn-out existing insulation. This will further facilitate the identification of all sources of air leaks in the attic.

2- Mold neutralization: Using our excellent product Mold X2, our team was able to eliminate all mold stains on the floor and ceiling.

3- Air sealing: We proceeded to seal all areas with air leaks to ensure optimal airtightness of the space. The sources of air leaks were numerous, such as ventilation ducts, the space around the chimney, and holes for wires and pipes.

4- Blowing in the new insulation: We installed our cellulose fiber insulation. Blowing in this insulation achieved an R60 thermal value, ensuring optimal insulation for the climate of this region of Quebec.

Following our interventions, we not only eliminated the mold in the attic but also contributed to enhancing residential comfort and energy efficiency of this house. Uncomfortable drafts were eliminated, and the new insulation significantly reduced the Hydro bill.
