Poor attic insulation in Les Cedres, Qc

Challenge

Mrs. Hanley had an attic that wasn't well insulated. There were less than 10 in. of cellulose fibers in his attic which was equivalent to an R-38 value. The air circulation was almost non-existent which made the attic very humid.

A lack of insulation in your attic can be extremely costly since it allows for increased energy waste. Homeowners can avoid expensive repairs over time and benefit in various ways when they choose to install insulation in an attic.

Solution

The solution

- Seal air leaks on the attic floor such as joints and holes with our polyurethane foam

- Add ventilation mats to improve the air circulation

- Blow a little over 16” of cellulose fibers.

One of the first steps, when we insulate an attic, is to seal the joints and holes that are sources of air leaks because they allow the heated air to escape more quickly into the attic

We blew over 16" of cellulose fibers to achieve an R-60 value.
