Air sealing and insulation of Attic in Sainte-Agathe-Des-Monts, QC

Problem

Ms. Monique contacted us to inspect her attic. Our expert, Alexandrine, visited Sainte-Agathe-Des-Monts to conduct a detailed and free inspection. 

While examining the attic, Alexandrine confirmed a lack of insulation and also identified several other complications: Mold and spider webs were present, attributed to moisture caused by bad attic insulation. This was one of the main causes of irritating drafts within the house, leading to excessive use of the heating/cooling system. 

Solution

After getting the approval from Ms. Monique, our team of workers, managed by Colin, began by removing the old insulation before eliminating mold stains. Next, they sealed all existing air leaks within the attic. Additionally, they used the thermal insulation SilverGlo to insulate attic access. Finally, they blew in 17 inches of TruSoft cellulose fiber insulation onto the attic floor to achieve an optimal thermal value of R60. The cellulose used is fire-resistant and inhibits mold formation.
