Attic of our client before the work had started
The attic was poorly insulated, had mold and the lack of insulation caused ice dams in winter at the end of
Mold in the attic .
Poor insulation and ventilation of the attic will cause the proliferation of mold
Insulate the access hatch to the attic
Very often the access hatch is a plywood board so this represents a very large air leak as it is very thin, it does not insulate this space well. We add an insulating panel on it for better insulation.
Cellulose fibers
With the air leaks sealed, the mold removed, and the access hatch isolated, we blow just over 16 '' of cellulose fiber to properly insulate the attic and achieve an R-60 value.
