Attic Insulation & Air Sealing Services in Greenfield Park, QC

M. Haydar, residing in Greenfield Park, contacted us to inspect his attic. Winter is over this year. However, he experienced an excess of drafts in his house during winter, which was alarming. Additionally, the hydro bills were very high, especially during the months of January and February due to excessive use of heating systems to compensate for the drafts.

During our free inspection, our specialist Toufic examined the attic. He immediately noticed the inadequate amount of insulation. Furthermore, the presence of mold stains was concerning. Toufic explained to our client that air leaks in the attic would counteract the insulation, thus reducing its effectiveness. Moreover, the presence of mold indicates excess moisture, which can cause wood rot and subsequently a serious structural problem. The optimal solution was complete attic insulation.

After signing the contract, our team of workers, led by Colin, began by removing the old insulation. This step is important because many air leaks were hidden under the existing insulation. We used our excellent product Mold-X2 to neutralize all mold stains. Then, they identified all sources of air leaks. Our excellent product ZypFoam is used to seal these holes. As for the attic access hatch, it's the largest hole in the attic that can allow air to escape, hence the importance of insulating it very well. For this, we used our revolutionary thermal insulation SilverGlo. Finally, we blew approximately 17 inches of TruSoft cellulose fiber insulation onto the attic floor to achieve an optimal thermal value of R60. The cellulose used is fire-resistant as well as mold-resistant.
